Langzeitexposition refers to exposure to a stimulus, hazard, or environmental factor over an extended period, typically months or years, as opposed to acute exposure. The term is used in several fields, including occupational health, environmental science, toxicology, radiology, and, in some contexts, photography.

In health contexts, Langzeitexposition describes cumulative or chronic exposure that may contribute to long-latency diseases. Key concepts include exposure concentration or dose, duration, frequency, and route of exposure, as well as individual susceptibility and latency. Assessment relies on environmental monitoring, personal dosimetry, biomonitoring, and exposure modeling; results are integrated into estimates of cumulative dose or average dose rate over time.

Health effects depend on the agent and dose. Chronic exposure to air pollutants, heavy metals, solvents, noise, or ionizing radiation can increase risks for cardiovascular disease, cancer, neurodevelopmental effects, and other outcomes.
