Scope and concepts: It covers text, metadata, transcripts, and speech representations, and it is concerned with how language resources are packaged, tagged, and delivered between components such as input collectors, translation engines, quality evaluators, and output distributors. The approach emphasizes interoperability, streaming efficiency, and policy-driven handling of data, including privacy and access control.

Technical components: Langtransport relies on standardized language identifiers (for example ISO 639 language codes and RFC 5646 locale tags), compact encodings (UTF-8), and envelope formats that carry content along with metadata such as detected source language, confidence scores, copyright notices, and licensing.
