Landseariver is a fictional river described as part of the continent of Valora, in the northern nation commonly called Northmark. It originates in the Veil Highlands near Mount Calder, at roughly 1,350 meters above sea level, and begins a descent toward the sea.

The river runs about 210 kilometers, initially heading southeast through forested highlands before turning east across the Seabrook Plain and finally reaching the coast. Its course is marked by a mix of steep gorges in the upper catchment and broader meanders in the middle and lower stretches. The Landseariver basin covers an area of around 4,600 square kilometers. Major tributaries include North Brook and West Creek, which contribute seasonal floods that shape surrounding floodplains.

Ecology and environment: The upper reaches host mixed coniferous and deciduous forests, with riparian zones that support brown trout and other freshwater species. Otters and a variety of waterfowl are common along quieter sections, while the lower estuary supports migratory birds and brackish-tolerant vegetation. The lower delta area contains wetlands that serve as important habitat for local wildlife and as a natural buffer against coastal erosion.

Human use and settlements: Historically, the Landseariver supplied timber—rafting and logging were prominent in the mid- to late history of the region. In modern times, the river supports irrigation and hydroelectric power generation, notably at the Calder Dam in the upper basin. The river corridor is used for recreation, including fishing, kayaking, and trail-based tourism, with conservation programs aimed at protecting habitats and biodiversity.

Etymology: The name Landseariver is believed to derive from a historic phrase meaning “river where land meets sea,” reflecting its downstream estuarine character.
