laiendile

Laiendile is an Estonian word form that represents the allative case of the noun laiend, which means extension or expansion. The allative case is used to indicate direction toward something or the recipient of an action, so laiendile translates roughly as “to the extension” or “onto the extension” in English. The form is created by adding the allative suffix -le to the stem laiend; the plural form is laiendidele.

In usage, laiendile appears in contexts where movement toward or targeting of the extension is described, or where the extension functions as a destination or beneficiary of an action. In everyday language, however, the term laiendus is more commonly used for the general concept of an extension, such as a software extension or hardware extension, whereas laiend is a less frequent root form.
