Läänityksiä refers to the historical system of feudal grants, primarily known in Finland and Sweden. This system involved the crown granting land, often large estates, to individuals, usually nobles, in exchange for military service, administrative duties, or other forms of loyalty. These granted lands were known as läänityksiä, and the recipients were called lääninherra or lensherre.
