Kõlarielemendid, commonly referred to as speaker drivers, are the fundamental components within a loudspeaker responsible for producing sound. They convert electrical energy from an amplifier into mechanical vibrations, which in turn create sound waves that travel through the air to our ears.

The most common types of kõlarielemendid include woofers, mid-range drivers, and tweeters. Woofers are designed to reproduce low-frequency sounds, typically bass. They usually have larger diaphragms and are capable of moving more air. Mid-range drivers handle the frequencies in the middle of the audible spectrum, covering vocals and most musical instruments. Tweeters are responsible for producing high-frequency sounds, such as cymbals and sibilance. They have smaller, lighter diaphragms that can vibrate at very high speeds.

Other types of kõlarielemendid exist, such as full-range drivers, which aim to reproduce the entire audible spectrum with a single unit, and specialized drivers like subwoofers, dedicated to extremely low bass frequencies. The materials used for the diaphragm, such as paper, plastic, or metal, and the design of the voice coil and magnet structure significantly influence the driver's performance, including its frequency response, efficiency, and distortion levels.
