Kruisperk is a small rural village and civil parish in the northern Lowlands of Verdania. It lies along the edge of peatlands beside the River Thorne, about 30 kilometers from the regional capital. The parish covers a compact area surrounding a central village square. As of the latest estimate, Kruisperk has a population of roughly 1,600 residents and an economy based on agriculture, dairy farming, and light manufacturing tied to regional markets.

The name Kruisperk is derived from Dutch elements kruis, meaning 'cross', and perk, historically used to denote a meadow or pasture. Local tradition links the name to a cross-shaped crossroads at the village center and to a meadow that served as a recurring gathering place for traders in the medieval period. The first documentary reference to Kruisperk appears in a 1312 regional charter.

Geographically, Kruisperk sits on flat, low-lying terrain with peat soil and small waterways. Notable landmarks include the 15th-century St. Jacob’s Church, rebuilt after a fire in the 17th century, and a nearby historic water mill that operated into the 19th century. A war memorial and a planted town square form a focal point for community events, including an annual harvest festival.

Administratively, Kruisperk is part of the Verdanian Rural Municipality of Holendorp and is governed by a parish council composed of nine members elected every four years. The village is connected by a regional road and a short branch railway line linking it to the nearby town of Eslin. Local services include a primary school, a volunteer fire brigade, a community center, and several small shops serving residents and visiting hikers.
