Kriteriat is a term used to describe a set of standards or conditions used to evaluate, compare, or select among alternatives. In research, project management, education, and quality assurance, kriteriat—plural of the word criterion in some language variants—define the benchmarks that decisions must meet. Each criterion states a specific requirement and may include a measurement method, a scoring scale, and a threshold for approval.

A typical kriteriat framework organizes criteria by relevance, verifiability, and impact. For example, admission kriteriat specify prerequisites and evaluation methods; product development kriteriat outline safety, performance, and usability requirements; and research inclusion kriteriat determine which subjects are eligible for study. Clear, observable, and objective kriteriat promote transparency, consistency, and defensible judgments.

Linguistic note: "kriteriat" is not the standard English plural for "criterion" (that form is "criteria"), but it appears in some languages or translated texts as a plural form of the equivalent word. In multilingual contexts, localization may use varying plural forms for the concept of criterion.
