krediterade

Krediterade is a Swedish term formed from the verb kreditera and is used to describe that a credit has been recorded or acknowledged. It can refer to money being added to an account, a transaction being reversed in the form of a credit, or a person’s contribution being acknowledged in a credit list such as film or music credits.

In accounting and finance, kreditering means recording an amount on the credit side of an account. A balance is increased on the liability or income side, or decreased on the asset or expense side. When a customer is issued a refund or a discount is granted, the amount is often described as krediterat to the customer's account. A krediterad belopp or krediterad intäkt indicates such an amount has been credited. Credit notes (kreditnota) are common instruments used to document and formalize these credits.

In other contexts, krediterade can describe recognition in credits, for example a person who is listed in the end credits of a film, a production, or a published work. This use is common in media industries and is analogous to “credited as…”
