Konvexségre is a Hungarian term that translates to "convexity" in English. In mathematics, convexity is a fundamental property that describes the shape of a set or the behavior of a function. A set is considered convex if, for any two points within the set, the line segment connecting those two points is entirely contained within the set. Imagine a solid circle; any line drawn between two points inside the circle will stay within the circle. A set that is not convex might have indentations or holes, meaning a line segment could pass outside the set.

Similarly, a function is convex if its graph curves upwards.
