Konjugerende is a Danish term that denotes something that is in the process of conjugation or capable of conjugating. The word is derived from the verb konjugere and functions as an adjective or present participle in technical contexts. In linguistics, konjugerende describes verbs or verb forms that are inflected to express features such as person, number, tense or mood. In Danish grammar, inflection is more commonly described as bøjning, but konjugerende appears in some discussions and in cross-linguistic terminology.

In biology, konjugerende is used in relation to conjugation, a mechanism of horizontal gene transfer between bacteria. Konjugerende plasmider are mobile genetic elements that can transfer themselves from a donor cell to a recipient during cell–cell contact, typically via a sex pilus. The process often involves the transfer of a single-stranded DNA copy that is replicated in the recipient, producing a stable plasmid in the new host. This form of genetic exchange contributes to the spread of traits such as antibiotic resistance and virulence factors. Terminology varies by language; in English the terms “conjugative” and “conjugating” are used, and in Danish the corresponding phrases are konjugerende plasmider and related expressions.
