Konduktivitásérzékel refers to the measurement of electrical conductivity, which is a material's ability to conduct electric current. This property is inversely related to resistivity. In essence, a konduktivitásérzékel device, or conductivity sensor, quantifies how easily electric charge can flow through a substance. The presence and concentration of dissolved ions in a solution are primary factors influencing its conductivity. Pure water has very low conductivity, while water containing dissolved salts or minerals exhibits higher conductivity.

Conductivity sensors typically work by applying a voltage across two electrodes immersed in the substance being tested. The resulting current flow is then measured. This current is directly proportional to the conductivity of the substance. The sensor's design can vary, with common types including two-electrode and four-electrode sensors. Two-electrode sensors are simpler but can be affected by electrode polarization and fouling. Four-electrode sensors offer greater accuracy by separating the current-carrying and voltage-measuring electrodes, thus minimizing these errors.
