Konditionaalimuodot is the Finnish term for the conditional mood, used to express hypothetical situations, wishes, polite requests, and outcomes that depend on a condition. In Finnish grammar the conditional has two main tenses: konditionaali preesens (present conditional) and konditionaali perfekti (past or perfect conditional).

The present conditional is formed by adding the marker -isi- to the verb stem and attaching the personal endings. For example: mennä becomes menisin, sinä menisit, hän menisi, me menisimme, te menisitte, he menisivät. The standard pattern applies to most verbs; the verb olla is irregular in its conditional forms (olisin, olisit, olisi, olisimme, olisitte, olisivat).

Negation uses ei or en + the corresponding conditional form (en menisi). Irregular verbs and vowel changes can occur, but the basic system of present conditional with -isi- and past conditional with olla remains central.
