Komedia is a genre of dramatic or narrative work intended to amuse and entertain, typically featuring humorous situations, witty dialogue, and a light-hearted tone, with a happy or satisfying ending. In Polish usage, the term encompasses theatrical, cinematic, and television works whose primary aim is humor, satire, or light social observation.
Etymology traces komedia to the Greek term komoidía, via Latin comoedia, referring to a form of theatre
Classical development includes Old Comedy, exemplified by Aristophanes, and New Comedy, represented by Plautus and Terence;
