Kogunõudlus, in economics, refers to the total demand for all goods and services in an economy at a given price level and over a specific period. It is a fundamental concept used to analyze macroeconomic conditions, particularly inflation and economic growth. Kogunõudlus is typically represented by a downward-sloping curve on a graph, indicating that as the overall price level falls, the quantity of goods and services demanded increases, and vice versa.

The components of kogunõudlus are aggregate consumption, aggregate investment, government spending, and net exports (exports minus imports). Changes in any of these components can shift the kogunõudlus curve. For instance, an increase in consumer confidence or government spending would likely lead to an outward shift of the curve, signifying higher demand at every price level. Conversely, a recession or a decrease in foreign demand for a country's exports would cause an inward shift.

Understanding kogunõudlus is crucial for policymakers. By analyzing the factors influencing it, governments and central banks can implement fiscal and monetary policies to manage the economy. For example, to combat a recession characterized by low kogunõudlus, policymakers might increase government spending or lower interest rates to stimulate consumption and investment.
