Klorresiduum, also written as klorresiduum, is a term used in chemistry and materials science to denote the residual chloride content or chloride residue in a material after a processing step. The word combines Klor (chlorine) and residuum (residue), and in German-language technical literature it is used to describe the amount of chloride that remains following purification, washing, or chemical treatment. In English-language sources the concept is typically referred to as chloride residue or residual chloride.

The measure is used as a quality control parameter because chlorides can affect corrosion behavior, chemical reactivity, and the performance of a material. It can indicate incomplete removal of chlorinating agents, incomplete washing, or insufficient purification in various processing routes such as metallurgical refining, ceramic and cement production, or polymer and inorganic material synthesis. Results are usually reported as a mass fraction of chloride (for example percent Cl by mass or mg Cl per g of sample) or as chloride ion concentration in a test extract solution.

Analytical methods for determining the klorresiduum include argentimetric titration with silver nitrate, gravimetric determination of silver chloride, and instrumental techniques such as ion chromatography or inductively coupled plasma methods after dissolution of the sample. Accurate assessment requires consistent sample preparation and careful control of interfering species.

Although common in some German-language sources, the term has limited use in English-language literature, where the general term chloride residue is more widely employed.
