Kieltoeosta refers to the Finnish concept of prohibition. Historically, this has most notably been applied to alcohol. The Prohibition era in Finland, known as kieltolaki, was in effect from 1919 to 1932. This legislation prohibited the production, import, sale, and transport of alcoholic beverages.
