Keuhkoputkeen, also known as the bronchus, refers to the airways that branch off from the trachea (windpipe) and lead into the lungs. There are two primary bronchi, one for each lung, known as the right and left main bronchi. These main bronchi further subdivide into smaller and smaller airways within the lungs, forming the bronchial tree. The right main bronchus is typically wider, shorter, and more vertical than the left main bronchus, which is why inhaled foreign objects are more likely to enter the right lung.
The bronchi are lined with mucous membranes and cilia, which help to trap and remove dust, pathogens,
