Keskbörsita, also known as the Central Baltic Stock Exchange, was a regional stock exchange operating in the Baltic states—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—from 1997 until its closure in 2005. It was established to foster financial integration and economic cooperation among the three countries by providing a unified platform for trading securities, including stocks, bonds, and derivatives.

The exchange was founded through a joint initiative by the stock exchanges of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, aiming to create a single market for capital in the region. Keskbörsita facilitated cross-border investments, enabling companies from one Baltic state to raise capital from investors in another. It also introduced standardized trading rules and regulatory frameworks to ensure transparency and investor protection.

Over its eight-year existence, Keskbörsita played a role in developing the Baltic financial markets, though its impact was limited by the relatively small size of the regional economy compared to larger European exchanges. The exchange faced challenges, including low trading volumes, limited liquidity, and competition from other regional and international platforms.

In 2005, Keskbörsita was dissolved as part of a restructuring of Baltic financial markets. The exchange’s operations were gradually phased out, with its remaining functions either absorbed by national exchanges or transferred to other regional initiatives. The closure marked the end of an experiment in Baltic financial cooperation, though it contributed to broader discussions about regional economic integration in the Baltic states.
