A keevitusmask, or welding helmet, is a piece of personal protective equipment designed to shield the user's eyes, face, and neck from the intense ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) radiation produced during welding processes. It also protects against sparks, slag, and other flying debris. The most critical component of a keevitusmask is the auto-darkening lens, which automatically transitions from a clear state to a dark shade when it detects the arc of a welding torch. This rapid darkening prevents flash burn, a painful condition affecting the eyes. Manual shade adjustment is also available on some models.

Keevitusmaskid are typically constructed from durable, heat-resistant materials like fiberglass or high-impact plastics. They feature adjustable headbands for a comfortable and secure fit, ensuring the mask stays in place during welding. Some masks include features like replaceable outer lenses to protect the auto-darkening filter from scratches and spatter.
