Kaiunta is a coastal town and commune located on the southern shore of the fictional island group of Veridia, within the sovereign state of Haloria. It sits at the head of Kaiunta Bay and relies on a natural harbor that supports local fishing fleets and small-scale trade. The surrounding terrain is volcanic, with sea cliffs, a central valley, and a temperate maritime climate.

The name Kaiunta derives from the Kaiuntan language and is commonly interpreted as meaning “anchor of the sea.” Human settlement in the area dates to the 16th century, with the town developing around fishing and a growing market center in the 19th century. Kaiunta gained municipal autonomy within Haloria in the mid-20th century and today functions as the administrative seat of the Kaiunta District.

Governance in Kaiunta is provided by a municipal council of nine members, headed by a mayor. The town is part of Havara Province and participates in provincial and national elections. The local economy centers on fishing and fish processing, supplemented by agriculture—primarily tropical fruits and root crops—and growing tourism focused on coastal trails, diving, and cultural heritage.

Demographically, Kaiunta has a population of about 6,800 residents. The linguistic profile includes Veridian as the dominant language, with Kaiuntan spoken by some older residents; education is conducted in Veridian. The town features landmarks such as Kaiunta Port, Mount Kaia, and the Old Market, along with an annual Kaiunta Festival in August that celebrates fishing heritage. Transportation includes a provincial road network and a ferry service to neighboring islands, with a small regional airport adjacent to the town.
