Kaasavaks is a small archipelago nation in the northern seas, consisting of about a dozen volcanic islands. The capital is Vayla, located on the central island. The country has a population of roughly 300,000.

The inhabitants, the Kaasavaks, speak Kaasavaki, a language in the Seafolk family. Most residents are bilingual in neighboring languages, and literacy rates are high.

Kaasavaks operates as a parliamentary republic. The president is the head of state and the prime minister the head of government. The unicameral legislature has 68 seats; elections are every four years.

The economy relies on fisheries and aquaculture, seaweed farming, and ecotourism. Major exports include dried fish, seaweed products, and shells. Protected marine areas support biodiversity and sustainable harvesting.

Settlement dates to around 900 CE. The islands formed part of regional trade networks and experienced periodic foreign influence. Independence was achieved in the late 20th century, followed by membership in the Southeast Oceanic Union.

Culture centers on weaving, beadwork, and marine-themed oral literature. Festivals celebrate fishing seasons and maritime heritage. Cuisine emphasizes fish, coconut, and tubers; social norms stress communal aid and resource stewardship.
