Järn(II)salt is a chemical compound containing iron in its +2 oxidation state, also known as ferrous iron. These salts are typically formed when iron reacts with nonmetal elements or acids. Common examples include iron(II) sulfate (FeSO4), iron(II) chloride (FeCl2), and iron(II) oxide (FeO). In aqueous solutions, iron(II) ions (Fe^2+) are generally pale green in color, although the specific hue can be influenced by complexing ligands. Iron(II) salts are often soluble in water, with the notable exception of iron(II) sulfide (FeS).

These compounds play significant roles in various fields. In agriculture, iron(II) sulfate is used as a soil amendment to treat iron chlorosis, a condition in plants caused by iron deficiency. In medicine, iron(II) sulfate is a common oral supplement for treating iron deficiency anemia.
