Jurybedömning, often translated as jury assessment or jury deliberation, refers to the process by which a jury reviews evidence and testimony presented during a trial to reach a verdict. In legal systems that utilize juries, such as those in many common law countries, the jury is responsible for determining the facts of the case. This assessment typically begins after all parties have presented their arguments and evidence and the judge has instructed the jury on the relevant law.

The jury retires to a private room to discuss the case. During this deliberation, jurors examine the evidence, consider witness statements, and debate the applicable legal principles. The goal is to reach a unanimous or, in some jurisdictions, a majority decision on whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty in criminal cases, or liable or not liable in civil cases. Jurors are expected to base their decision solely on the evidence presented in court and the judge's legal instructions, without being influenced by external factors. The length of deliberations can vary significantly, from a few hours to several days or even weeks, depending on the complexity of the case and the jurors' ability to reach a consensus. Once a verdict is reached, the jury returns to the courtroom to announce its decision.
