The monetary system is decimal, with 1 joont equal to 100 subjoonts. Denominations include coins of 1 and 5 subjoonts, and coins of 1, 5, and 10 joonts. Banknotes are issued in 20, 50, 100, and 200 joonts. In electronic form, amounts can be held and transferred in digital joonts, with subjoonts as the smallest payable unit.

The term joont is derived from the proto-lexicon of Veridia, meaning "exchange" or "to trade."

The joont system was introduced after the unification of major trading cities in the early expansions of Veridia to replace barter and weight-based coins, and to facilitate taxation and accounting.

The Veridian Mint, operated under the central treasury, issues coins and banknotes.
