Javallatok, also known as sea snakes, are a group of marine reptiles belonging to the family Hydrophiidae. They are found in the coastal waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, as well as the Red Sea. Sea snakes are known for their distinctive appearance, with a long, slender body and a forked tongue that is used to detect prey. They are venomous and use their venom to subdue their prey, which primarily consists of fish and crustaceans. Sea snakes are oviparous, meaning they lay eggs, which are typically deposited in a nest on land. They are not aggressive towards humans and are generally shy and elusive creatures. Despite their venomous nature, sea snakes play an important role in the marine ecosystem by controlling the population of their prey species. There are currently 33 recognized species of sea snakes, with the most well-known being the yellow-bellied sea snake and the olive sea snake.
