Jattendrais is a small settlement situated in the western part of Burkina Faso, within the administrative jurisdiction of the Hauts-Bassins Region. The village falls under the Poké Department of the Sanguié Province and is located roughly 60 kilometres north of the regional capital, Kaya. The geographical coordinates place Jattendrais on the Sahelian belt, characterised by a semi-arid climate with a distinct wet season that lasts from June to September.

The population of Jattendrais is modest, with census records from 2019 indicating a total of approximately 1,200 inhabitants. The majority of residents belong to the Mossi ethnic group, which is the predominant cultural group in the region. French is the official language used in administrative contexts, while local varieties of Moré are commonly spoken among the villagers. The community exhibits a mix of age groups, with a significant proportion of the population being under the age of 25.

Agriculture constitutes the primary economic activity in Jattendrais. Farmers cultivate millet, sorghum, maize, and groundnuts, relying on both rainfed and small-scale irrigation systems. Livestock rearing, particularly goats and cattle, supplements crop production. In recent years, community-led initiatives have promoted improved seed varieties and sustainable farming practices, leading to modest increases in agricultural yields.
