Jadaühendus, also known as series connection, is a method of connecting electrical components such that the electric current flows through each component in turn. In a jadaühendus, the components are arranged in a single, unbroken path. This means that the current leaving one component enters the next, and so on, until it completes the circuit.

The defining characteristic of a jadaühendus is that the current is the same through all components. If the current is measured at any point in the circuit, it will have the same value. However, the voltage across each component in a jadaühendus will generally be different, depending on the resistance of that component. The total voltage across the series combination is the sum of the voltages across each individual component.

Adding or removing a component in a jadaühendus significantly impacts the circuit. If one component in a jadaühendus fails or is removed, the entire circuit is broken, and current will stop flowing through all components. This is because the single path for current is interrupted. Examples of jadaühendus include old-style Christmas lights where if one bulb burns out, the whole string goes dark, or the batteries in a flashlight when placed end-to-end. Resistors, capacitors, and inductors can all be connected in series. In circuit analysis, the total resistance in a jadaühendus is the sum of the individual resistances.
