Jõulutraditsioonid refer to the customs and practices associated with the Christmas season, particularly in Estonia. These traditions have evolved over centuries, blending pagan and Christian influences, and continue to be a significant part of Estonian culture.

A central element of Estonian Christmas is the Christmas tree, or "jõulupuu," which is typically decorated with ornaments, lights, and often a star or angel at the top. Families gather to decorate the tree together. Another key tradition is the Christmas Eve meal, "jõululaupäev," which is considered the main celebration. This festive meal often includes traditional dishes such as roasted pork or goose, verivorst (blood sausage), hapukapsas (sauerkraut), and various potato dishes. Gingerbread cookies, or "piparkoogid," are also a popular treat, often baked and decorated in the days leading up to Christmas.

Gift-giving is an important part of the celebration, with presents exchanged, often brought by "Jõuluvana," the Estonian equivalent of Santa Claus, who arrives in a sleigh pulled by reindeer. Singing Christmas carols, or "jõululaulud," is another cherished activity. Many families attend church services on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

The period between Christmas and Epiphany (Twelfth Night) is known as "kadrikuu" or the "twelve days of Christmas," during which various folk customs were historically observed. While some of these older traditions have faded, many core elements of Estonian Christmas celebrations, focused on family, food, and festive spirit, remain strong.
