içindek

İçindek is a term observed in some Turkish-language texts as a nonstandard abbreviated form related to içindekiler, which means “contents” or “the things inside.” It does not have an entry in major Turkish dictionaries and is not generally treated as a separate lexical item in formal Turkish.

Etymology and usage: The form appears to derive from iç (inside) combined with a truncated suffix pattern found in içindekiler. It mainly surfaces in informal writing, on signage, packaging, or other contexts where space constraints favor truncation over full forms. Because it is nonstandard, its appearance is often considered editorially inappropriate in formal prose.

Standards and editors: In formal writing, içindek is typically avoided and replaced with içindekiler when referring to a list of items, or with other words such as içerik or içindeki depending on the intended meaning.
