Iskutilavuuteen is a Finnish term used in the field of impact mechanics and material science. It is the illative case form of the noun iskutilavuus, which translates roughly to “impact volume.” The base concept, iskutilavuus, denotes the region of material that is affected by an impact event, such as a localized zone of deformation, compression, or damage, during very short time scales.
