Ilokul is the first stage of formal compulsory education in Turkey, comprising four grades: 1st through 4th. It typically serves children aged about six to ten or eleven. The program is delivered under the national curriculum established by the Ministry of National Education (Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı, MEB).
