ibandyti

Ibandyti is a Finnish-language term that is sometimes used to refer to a person who participates in the sport of ibandy, the Finnish name for bandy. In standard Finnish sports terminology, a player of the sport is normally described as an ibandypelaaja or simply pelaaja, so ibandyti is not widely attested in official sources and is considered informal or nonstandard.

Etymology and usage patterns are not uniformly fixed. The form ibandyti appears to be a coinage built from the sport name ibandy with an agent-like suffix, but it is not part of the established nomenclature used by national federations, clubs, or mainstream media. Consequently, its appearance is mostly limited to informal writing, fan discussions, or regional usage, where speakers may employ it to denote someone who plays ibandy.

In practice, clearer and more widely understood terms for a person involved in the sport remain ibandypelaaja (ibandy player) or more generally pelaaja (player) within the context of the sport. The terminology for related ice sports varies, with bandy used internationally and salibandy (floorball) referring to a different sport in Finland.
