hjemmestøtte
Hjemmestøtte is a term used in Norway to describe the range of health- and social-care services provided in a person’s own home to support daily living and independence. Municipalities are responsible for offering these services to residents with needs due to age, illness, disability, or temporary conditions. The content of hjemmestøtte varies with individual needs but commonly includes practical help with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, shopping, and transportation; personal care such as help with bathing, dressing, and hygiene; and medical or nursing support at home when required. Rehabilitation, training to maintain or regain functioning, and assistance with the use of assistive devices are also part of the offering. In some cases, preventive measures or safety equipment are provided to reduce risk at home.
