hermaphroditismiä
Hermaphroditism refers to the condition of having both male and female reproductive organs. In the biological context, it is most commonly observed in plants and certain invertebrates where an individual possesses both testes and ovaries, or structures that produce both sperm and eggs. This allows for self-fertilization or fertilization with another hermaphroditic individual. Many species, such as earthworms and snails, are hermaphrodites.
In humans, the term "hermaphrodite" is outdated and has been replaced by more accurate and respectful terminology.
