Rust uses Box<T> and Vec<T> to allocate on the heap, with strict ownership and borrowing rules enforced by the compiler. In managed languages like Java, objects are typically allocated on the heap and reclaimed by a garbage collector, which tracks reachability rather than requiring explicit deallocation.

The use of heapallocated objects is common for data structures with variable size or long lifetimes, such as linked lists, trees, large arrays, and polymorphic objects. However, heap memory incurs allocation and deallocation costs, potential fragmentation, and, in non-garbage-collected environments, the risk of leaks if ownership is mishandled.
