Hastighetsförändring is a Swedish term that translates to "change in velocity" or "change in speed." In physics, it refers to the alteration of an object's velocity over time. Velocity is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude (speed) and direction. Therefore, a change in velocity can occur if the object's speed changes, its direction of motion changes, or both.

The rate at which velocity changes is called acceleration. If an object is speeding up, it has positive acceleration in the direction of motion.
