Happeanism is a philosophical theory that posits that the only reality is the stream of conscious experiences, or "happeas," that an individual has. This theory was proposed by the British philosopher George Henry Lewes in the 19th century. According to Happeanism, the physical world, including other people and objects, is merely a construct of our minds. Lewes argued that our perceptions and sensations are the fundamental building blocks of reality, and that everything else is derived from these experiences.
Happeanism is often contrasted with materialism, which holds that the physical world is the primary reality.
Critics of Happeanism argue that it leads to solipsism, the philosophical position that only one's own mind
