The size or depth of the resulting indentation is then measured and converted into a hardness value. Examples include Brinell, Rockwell, and Vickers hardness tests. Shore hardness, often used for polymers and elastomers, is a dynamic indentation test that measures the depth of penetration of a spring-loaded indenter.
