A gömbszelep, commonly known as a ball valve in English, is a type of quarter-turn valve which employs a hollow, perforated, and pivoting ball to control fluid flow. When the valve is in the open position, the perforation is aligned with the flow path, allowing fluid to pass through. When the valve is rotated ninety degrees, the perforation is perpendicular to the flow path, blocking the flow.
