génkifejezésben
Génkifejezésben, often translated as gene expression, refers to the intricate process by which the information encoded in a gene is used to direct the synthesis of a functional gene product. This product is typically a protein, but can also be a functional RNA molecule like ribosomal RNA or transfer RNA. The process generally involves two main stages: transcription and translation. Transcription is the synthesis of an RNA molecule from a DNA template, creating a messenger RNA (mRNA) that carries the genetic code out of the nucleus in eukaryotes. Translation is the subsequent synthesis of a protein, where the sequence of nucleotides in the mRNA is decoded into a sequence of amino acids by ribosomes.
The level of gene expression can vary greatly depending on the cell type, developmental stage, and environmental
