Gwatown is a small town and municipality in Veridia's northern coastal region, situated along the Gwyne River and facing the Veridian Gulf. As of the 2020 census, it has roughly 8,600 residents. The economy centers on fishing, a light manufacturing sector, and regional services for agriculture.

The name Gwatown is believed to derive from an old Veridian term for harbor, or from the neighboring Gwa River. The settlement began in the 17th century as a fishing hamlet and was incorporated as a town in 1845. A railway line arrived in the 1870s, promoting growth, while the late 20th century brought diversification into tourism and seafood processing.

Gwatown lies on the coast with gently rolling hills inland. The climate is temperate maritime, with mild winters, cool summers, and about 1,100 millimeters of precipitation per year. The harbor provides shelter for fishing fleets and small cargo ships.

The town supports a working harbor, a small seafood processing facility, light manufacturing, and tourism-related services. It is served by Highway 12 and Highway 14, with a local bus network and Gwatown Municipal Airport offering regional flights. Healthcare is provided by Gwatown General Hospital, and education by Gwatown Community College.

Gwatown operates under a mayor-council government within Veridia's provincial framework. The town hosts the annual Gwa Days festival, celebrating local maritime heritage, and maintains a historic waterfront district. Notable residents include economist Lila Mendez and former footballer Theo Carver.
