Glutamatergic receptor

The glutamatergic receptor is a type of neurotransmitter receptor found in the nervous system that is involved in the transmission of glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter. Glutamate acts on a diverse group of receptors, including AMPA, NMDA, and kainate receptors, to mediate excitatory neurotransmission. The binding of glutamate to these receptors triggers a series of molecular events that ultimately lead to the activation of postsynaptic neurons.
