The førerkortordningen, or driver's license system, is the legal framework in Norway that governs the process of obtaining and maintaining a license to operate various types of motor vehicles. It is administered by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen). The system ensures that individuals possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and physical and mental fitness to drive safely on public roads.

To acquire a driver's license, applicants must typically complete a structured training program. This includes theoretical instruction covering traffic laws, road signs, and safe driving practices, as well as practical driving lessons.
