Følgevektorer, often translated as "follower vectors" or "tracking vectors," are a concept used in certain fields of mathematics and computer science to describe the motion or position of an object relative to another object. They are not a standard, universally defined term across all mathematical disciplines, but their application often involves representing the difference between the position or orientation of a "follower" object and a "leader" or reference object.

In essence, a følgevektor captures the relative state. If object A is the leader and object B is the follower, the følgevektor from A to B would be a vector pointing from A's position to B's position. This vector can also incorporate information about the relative orientation or velocity. Analyzing the time evolution of a følgevektor can reveal how the follower is moving in relation to the leader, whether it's maintaining a specific distance, following a particular path, or deviating from the leader's trajectory. Applications can be found in robotics, simulations, and animation, where one entity needs to dynamically adjust its movement based on the behavior of another.
