Frälssamhället, or the estate society of the nobility, refers to the social and political order in Sweden (and parts of Finland) from the late medieval period into the early modern era. It was characterized by a privileged aristocracy—frälse—whose members owned large estates, held key offices, and influenced both local and national governance.
