Prevention is key in avoiding folliculitis. Practicing good hygiene, wearing loose-fitting clothing, and avoiding sharing personal care items can all reduce the risk of developing folliculitis. Patients with compromised immune systems, such as those with diabetes or HIV/AIDS, may be more susceptible to developing folliculitis.
