A flextoboard is a type of circuit board designed for flexibility, allowing it to bend, twist, or conform to curved surfaces. Unlike traditional rigid printed circuit boards (PCBs), flextoboards are constructed using flexible substrates such as polyimide or polyester. These materials enable the board to withstand repeated bending cycles without compromising electrical performance.

The circuitry on a flextoboard is typically etched onto the flexible substrate using conductive materials like copper. The design often incorporates fewer layers than a rigid board, and the components used are usually surface-mount devices (SMDs) that are small and lightweight. Connectors and interconnections are also designed to accommodate the board's flexibility, often utilizing specialized flex-to-flex or flex-to-rigid connectors.

Flextoboards find applications in industries where space is limited or where the electronics need to move or adapt to irregular shapes.
