Flavoursector is a term used in theoretical discussions of subcellular organization in photosynthetic microorganisms to describe putative pigment-protein microdomains enriched in flavin cofactors. The name combines flavin and sector, signaling a modular region within the photosynthetic apparatus that is hypothesized to concentrate flavin-containing components.

Proposed structural features of flavoursectors include small, membrane-associated or cytosolic microdomains within thylakoid membranes or chloroplast stroma. They are described as assemblies containing flavin cofactors such as flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) bound to flavoproteins, along with pigment molecules and lipid components that promote compartmentalization. The microdomains are thought to exhibit distinctive autofluorescence under blue-green excitation, consistent with flavin content.
