Firehymns is a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2007 in Toronto, Ontario. The group consists of vocalist and guitarist Alexisonfire (Alex Lifeson Jr.), bassist and vocalist Matt Naughton, drummer and vocalist Mike DiScala, and guitarist and vocalist Matt McCallum. The band’s name is a play on the legendary Canadian rock band Rush, with "Fire" referencing the band’s energetic live performances and "Hymns" reflecting their anthemic songwriting style.

Firehymns gained early attention for their raw, high-energy sound, blending elements of post-hardcore, punk, and alternative rock. Their debut album, *The Hymns*, released in 2009, showcased their dynamic approach to songwriting, featuring tracks like "The Hymns" and "The Last Goodbye." The album’s success was followed by a series of well-received EPs and live recordings, including *The Hymns: Live at the Horseshoe Tavern* (2010) and *The Hymns: Live at the Horseshoe Tavern 2* (2011).

In 2012, Firehymns released their second full-length album, *The Hymns II*, which expanded their sound with more polished production while retaining their signature intensity. The album included hits like "The Hymns II" and "The Last Goodbye (Reprise)," further solidifying their reputation as a band capable of delivering powerful, emotionally charged performances. Their live shows are known for their high-energy, crowd-driven atmosphere, often featuring extended jams and improvisational segments.

Beyond music, Firehymns is also recognized for its charitable work.
